Aquatic species, mainly found in ponds and sluggish streams in swampy woodlands: may be found on the bottom or under logs nearby. Description: small head and short tail. Coloration: overall brown or dull yellow. Series of narrow dark indistinct lateral longitudinal lines: these may be reduced to a series of dark spots. Some specimens have vague dark or light markings on the back. Belly is yellow with scattered dark flecks. Reproduction: no details available. |
