Added 5 November 2023.
As a very general rule, snakes of the family Leptotyphlopidae are referred to as slender blind snakes or thread snakes.
Like its sister family Typhlopidae, this family has in recent years been broken up into a number of further genera.
Boulenger gives the characteristics of the family as follows: no ectopterygoid (transpalatine); pterygoid not extending to quadrate or mandible; no supratemporal; prefrontal forming a suture with nasal; coronoid present; vestiges of pelvis. Maxillary bordering mouth, forming a suture with premaxillary, prefrontal, and frontal, toothless; lower jaw toothed; pubis and ischium present, latter forming a symphysis.
Again, I am not aware of any hobbyist interest in these snakes, for perfectly understandable reasons.
